This extraordinary event saw the artist travel from Düsseldorf to New York, carried from the plane to the ambulance and wrapped in a felt blanket . His intent? That of isolating oneself from America and the outside world, exploring the relationship between the individual and the surrounding cultural context. Beuys spent three days in solitary confinement, accompanied only by a coyote.

Jean Touitou , however, adds: «Our business meetings have always been a very dynamic and productive ping-pong match. When I had an idea, Jonathan would immediately turn it into something better. It is a sort of limitless hypertext, an automatic writing applied to clothes, accessories and images. Thanks to Jonathan, we were able to go further, both in originality and research. Let's get into Joseph Beuys' ambulance and follow him on his chimerical journey ."
