Hot Spot: LiLi, a Mecca for Cantonese cuisine at the Peninsula

But that wasn't counting on the LiLi institution, HQ of the genre with success since its opening in 2014. Nestled within the Peninsula Hotel in the heart of the Golden Triangle, the restaurant with its bewitching, festive atmosphere is just right, recently announcing the appointment of Taklau Yuen as the new Head of School.
A native of Hong Kong, this goldsmith of Cantonese gastronomy brilliantly revisits Chinese cuisine, which he skilfully merges with handpicked French local products.
Installed in the subdued and theatrical room with vertiginous ceilings all in red hangings and traditional Chinese lanterns, you can taste an impeccable selection of dim sum full of snails, bouillabaisse-style fish soup or chestnut with truffles. black; excellent steamed brioches with honey glazed pork, finger-licking "wonton" ravioli, a surprising daikon radish carpaccio and tasty vegetarian spring rolls.
If fans of Peking duck go almost to LiLi in summer on pilgrimage, the menu offers a plethora of other appetizing options, from garlic breaded prawns to delicious sautéed blue lobster with carrots and chestnuts, not forgetting the exquisite duck breast Cantonese and fried cod in sweet and sour sauce.
All accompanied by Jasmine rice with foie gras and beef or wheat noodles with sweet onions, which you savour before indulging in one of the airy and ultra-subtle sweet notes for which the house pastry chef seems to hold the patent .
