Raf Simons' passion for North England for the collaboration with Fred Perry
The new limited edition Fred Perry x Raf Simons collection tells the Belgian designer's passion for youthful energy and freedom.
After the last collaboration with the artist Tom Tosseyn, Raf Simons for the new collection is inspired by the stylistic and cultural references of Northen England. To reinterpret the garments Fred Perry this time uses the works of art director and graphic designer Peter Saville, founder together with Tony Wilson and Alan Erasmus of the record company Factory Records. From music, to the identity of groups like New Orleans of Joy Division. The totally black items of the Fred Perry x Raf Simons collection feature patches and prints taken from the vinyl labels of soul records to recreate the universe of the British music scene made of style, fashion and multiculturalism. A dark allure with small hints of light pink, blue and white that color the patches and embroideries that recall the record labels of artists and song titles that have marked the history of music.

The wardrobe of the Fred Perry x Raf Simons collection consists of the brand's traditional polo shirts, oversized t-shirts and sweatshirts, denim jacket and trousers in brushed cotton twill fabric. Harrington jacket, in cotton with a boxy fit and printed patch graphics, and the unlined blazer with the collection's flagship item, featuring shoulder pads, drawstring waist, fishtail hem, shaped flap pockets and large print on the back.
