Sofia Richie's style and character captivated everyone after her wedding. Here's what made it so special.
Sofia Richie (now Grainge), a model and daughter of musician Lionel Richie, married music executive Elliot Grainge at the Hotel du Cap Eden Roc in Antibes in the South of France. The place is wonderful, and the hotel usually hosts important guests during the annual Cannes Film Festival. Elliot proposed to his fiancée in April 2022: "Forever isn't long enough," Sofia captioned a photo of their engagement on Instagram.
For the big day, three custom Chanel dresses were specially created for Sofia.
The first dress was made for a rehearsal dinner. Soon-to-be newlyweds specified cocktail attire as the dress code, and the bride longed for an elegant and timeless look. So she wore a long-sleeved, high-necked dress.
Sofia Richie wanted an after-party to be extra fun: "Somewhat like a nightclub – very dark, but with fun music and strobe lights". The dress was stunning – a little white Chanel dress with the iconic camellia. Sofia said her dream became a reality.
And, of course, the main dress for the ceremony was in no way inferior to the previous ones. On the contrary, the bride's dew drop veil became one of the most remarkable details.
For the best wedding gift, the prize goes to the bridegroom-to-be. Sofia Richie's favourite song, "Until I Found You" by Stephen Sanchez, played as the bride walked down the aisle. Little did she know that the singer was performing himself: "When I got closer to the aisle, I looked up and thought: Is that Stephen Sanchez?!".
Sofia Richie's wedding was memorable for the authentic love between the couple and the elegant style of the event itself. And while the beautiful location, decorations, and the bride's custom Chanel dresses were as impressive, Sofia's more casual outfits in the big day's lead-up were absolutely stunning.
