Arizona Love: We met the designer behind the most popular sandals of the summer
She's been the spirit behind the most desirable sandals for our summers since 2018. With her trekking spirit shoes, suspected of a boho-chic and responsible spirit thanks to straps in vintage bandanas, Leslie Halfon has seduced it-girls everywhere in the world. Her brand, Arizona Love, is blowing a breath of fresh air on our Instagram feed. We love its sunny spirit, a bit irreverent, which allows us to combine fashion and comfort. Meet the mastermind behind the pair of sandals every cool girl owns.
L'OFFICIEL: What were the inspirations behind your brand, 'Arizona Love'?
Leslie Halfon: The story begins following a trip to the Grand Canyon, invoking its spirit and local mythology to rekindle the bandana's inspiration. I was immersed in these places, like a postcard with memories of cacti, road trips and arid desert.
LO: Why did you choose this name?
LH: I liked that trip, so obviously it was 'Arizona Love'.
LO: What is your favorite model?
LH: Without hesitation the Trekky, the brand's iconic model made from vintage bandanas . I still have the first pair I made by hand, in red!
LO: Who will be the new must-have for 2023?
LH: There are two important new models in the collection. The Virgin clog — extremely comfortable and with a used bandana print, all enhanced with the brand's signature ties and pearls — as well as the essential flip-flop , which is the most affordable product at the price of 70€.
LO: We have seen sandals on many personalities, influencers and cool girls par excellence. How did you experience this consecration? Did you expect such success?
LH: Of course, I didn't expect such results… I'm very proud to see my creations on the feet of cool influencers and international celebrities, especially since everyone wears them differently. That's what I like the most: seeing how the person appropriates the pair. Each one following its style, its look. It's a real panel of personalities that present themselves before my eyes...
LO: The 'Arizona Love' essence in 3 words?
LH: Comfort, fashion, happiness.
