ERDEM launches into leather goods
"I am delighted to present our first collection of leather bags. I drew my inspiration from the character and presence of the women who have marked my stories, as well as from my fascination with the language of flowers," says Erdem Moralıoğlu.
For the Pre-Spring 2025 season, ERDEM launches its first collection of bags. The language of poetic and modern femininity that characterizes ERDEM is for the first time expressed in leather goods. Following the codes of the House, the collection is an ode to craftsmanship and beauty. The bag is called The Bloom and is handmade in Italy. Each piece features a flower bud handle, handcrafted in hammered brass with a light gold finish. The handle is inspired by the sculptural and organic form of flowers, while the intricate shape of the model is created using lost wax casting, a technique more traditionally used in the creation of fine jewelry. The sculptural shape of the handle contrasts with the organic body of the bag — a tactile and deconstructed silhouette in supple calfskin or velvet, lined with suede.
“I am delighted to present our first leather bag collection with The Bloom bag,” says the eponymous brand’s creative director, Erdem Moralıoğlu . “I began by contemplating the character, gestures and presence of the many women and muses who have inspired the stories in all my collections, as well as my lifelong fascination with the language of flowers.”
The collection includes two sizes of bags: The Bloom mini and The Bloom medium , for day and evening. The medium model will be available in khaki green and black calfskin, with a removable leather strap. The mini will be available in cream and black calfskin and black velvet, all with a removable gold-finish chain strap.
