Stella McCartney's autumn winter 2024 collection
Discover the Stella McCartney autumn-winter 2024-25 fashion show on L'OFFICIEL.
"Mother Earth is calling. It's about f*cking time", is the message that has been flooding designer Stella McCartney 's networks for several days in the lead-up to her autumn-winter 2024-25 show. Mother Earth seemed to be at the British designer's side - invoking an unexpected radiant spring sun, in a Paris soaked by a week of pouring rain. Under this exceptional weather, installed in a transparent greenhouse, the invited guests - including Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr - were able to discover Stella McCartney 's always engaging fashion show for her eponymous House.
Maxi screens and tank tops display the mantra of this new collection — “About Fucking Time!” — whose flowery language echoes the British punk and subversive spirit, which fears nothing and never touches the vulgar. Stella McCartney also supports her position as a pioneer in the environmental cause , far from the greenwashing marketing methods we know today. With its collection, ecological awareness rhymes with elegance rarely achieved, never boring, and innovation in materials. We find oversized pantsuits, hybrid bags and overcoats working on macro knitting in tones that are sometimes bright blue, sometimes fiery red, sometimes deep black, shimmering embroidered leotards, mini-dresses intertwined with crystals, but also patchworks of amazing textures — from knits, denim, cable knit, vegan leather and planet-friendly glitter. The wardrobe is meant to be bold and sharp — playing with sensational cuts and colors, reminding us that fashion can be a game, but the climate emergency is not.
