Acne Studio Collaborates with Kappa and Unveils a Campaign Featuring Tricky
The Massive Attack musician is the face of the campaign for the new capsule collection designed by Jonny Johansson and Kappa.
“I’ve always loved Kappa,” says Jonny Johansson , creative director of Acne Studios who presented the first collaboration with the Italian brand, “ Rebels wear Kappa, and that fascinates me: it’s sportswear for cool kids. In a world where the boundaries between classic workwear, streetwear, ready-to-wear and sportswear are blurring, it was only natural for Acne Studios to collaborate with Kappa on a collection that represents a modern way of dressing.” A creative liaison that unites the denim legacy of the Stockholm-based brand and Kappa’s sportswear that give life to a capsule collection of 22 pieces for spring summer 2025. Football jerseys, second-skin tops, tracksuits, denim, sneakers and a new version of the Acne Studios Bowlina bag.
From the sporting inspiration of Jonny Johansson, the blend between the two brands reinterprets the retro football uniforms with flame print in the emblematic pink of the brand, which show the Kappa and Acne Studios logos. And also the light-wash denim, the tracksuit pants with tape-logo that runs along the length of the leg, the breathable technical t-shirts worn by the footballers, a baseball cap, sneakers and knee socks to complete the look.
ACNE STUDIOS AND KAPPA CAPSULE COLLECTION CAMPAIGN WITH TRICKY
Continuing the storytelling of the Acne Studios capsule collection, the campaign shot with the British record producer and musician from Massive Attack, Tricky . Shot by photographer Jordan Hemingway and styled by Léopold Duchemin, the campaign best expresses that taste inspired by 90s sportswear and the raw aesthetic of the Swedish brand. «Tricky's music has had a real impact on my life. I've been a fan of his for a long time, and working with him on this project was completely natural» Jonny Johansson.
"Amazing people, really fun day. Usually I feel uncomfortable in a room full of strangers, but they made me feel like I was part of the family" Tricky
