Milan is preparing to welcome Design Week 2025 with a truly eloquent Fuorisalone theme: Connected Worlds . A space where hybridization, contaminations and exploration of different languages and knowledge produce new awareness and change. An invitation to reflect on how design can play a crucial role in connecting the true levels of our lives: from the natural environment to advanced technologies, from cultural traditions to future innovations. Bringing order to this beautiful creative chaos is a very pleasant task. We have selected the highlights of the events and exhibitions with which to discipline the very dense agenda of the next Milanese week. The most eclectic of the year.

Within the 5VIE circuit, which this year with the theme invisible harmonies also makes use of a new location, the Saloni Cavallerizze in Via Olona in Sant'Ambrogio, we would like to point out the former bank in Via San Vittore al Teatro 1/3 a few steps from Piazza Affari transformed into a   vault of visionary ideas. This is the research and experimentation project BOON_ROOM by BOON_EDITIONS X AND, the first a French furniture brand and the second a Canadian lighting brand, together in the exhibition of functional works of art and collectible design. CRASH at Spazio Big - in Via Santa Marta, sees Margraf, a point of reference in the marble sector, debut at the Milan Design Week with a truly impressive installation designed by the Hannes Peer Architecture studio. Marble, traditionally a symbol of perfection and staticity, is transformed into an element of disruption and revelation. Inside the district, you can also pass by Casa Ornella MEDITERRANEA - Andamento Lento in Via Conca del Naviglio, the showhouse project curated by Maria Vittoria Paggini where the domestic hierarchy is completely overturned. While in via Marco Polo 9 in the Portanuova area, MATERIA 2.0 opens, the   largest material library in Italy, an interdisciplinary hub of over 500 square meters with 1,200 samples, 5,000 pieces on display and over 15,000 products in the catalogue , aimed at universities and professionals. If at House of Switzerland at the Casa degli Artisti in Brera you are involved in mutating-dancing with the BADDANCE WITH THEBADWEEDS the trans-species musical group - half human and half plant by the artist Rocio Berenguer from Mudac in Lausanne with which to welcome the theme of ecological transition in a festive perspective, Soundroot is the wall tapestry made with the roots of herbaceous plants that intertwine naturally during growth, proposed by Mathilde Wittock within the large textile design exhibition   Woven Whispers by Belgium is Design as part of ALCOVA. A step must also be made by Capsule Plaza, which for the 2025 edition adds two extra locations, one in via Maiocchi, the other in Piazza Risorgimento. Among the projects we highlight the site-specific one conceived and curated by Sabine Marcelis with XL EXTRALIGHT®, an ultra-light material patented by Finproject: BLOOM is the new interior object to be discovered and enjoyed not only as a functional element in the care of plants.

At Fuorisalone 2025 in search of sensoriality, well-being and relaxation

Sensuality and contact with the textures of materials is almost an urgency in response to how today we are entangled in a perception of the virtual surrounding world strongly induced by digitalization. Three exhibitions and installations designed on this type of fruition and interaction are therefore to be marked in the itineraries of Design Week 2025. The first, PAFF PAFF – Liminal Spaces for Sensorial Rituals, is an installation that explores wool as a symbolic element to create a primordial space, presented by the Milanese design studio Park Associati in via Garofalo 31 - Porta Venezia Design District - together with Finemateria and thanks to the collaboration of cc-tapis and QuadroDesign. SENSES by IAMMI and materia-studio is the multisensory installation in the MelzoDodici auditorium, a dynamic hub in the heart of the Porta Venezia Design District where you can immerse yourself until April 13 in a journey that stimulates the senses with plays of light and shadow, sounds, tactile contrasts and scents in revealing the iconic and irreverent furnishings designed by IAMMI. In the background, a design and production based on the theme of upcycling materials from disused production processes. Finally, in the Brera district, in via Palermo 11, we point out the project by Bridgestone Softrobotics Ventures Morph Inn, a Zen-robotic space that combines automated systems with principles inspired by meditation to create an environment dedicated to relaxation and mindfulness. At the center of this experience is Morph, a soft robot designed to gently envelop people, offering a moment of pause and connection with one's self through natural movements, such as the breathing of an animal or the motion of the waves. The RAMs - Rubber Artificial Muscles - technology used by Bridgestone is a soft, flexible and adaptable actuator, the result of over forty years of research.

Fuorisalone 2025 is also a food & beverage opportunity
