The month of menswear 2023: all the appointments not to be missed

An overview of the fashion month dedicated to menswear passing through the most important events at the fashion shows in the fashion capital. From London we leave to go to Florence from Pitti, passing through Milan and concluding in Paris. Everything we know so far about the upcoming spring-summer 2024 shows, from Pharrell Williams' debut at Louis Vuitton to Fendi's appearance at Pitti Uomo

As we know, June is the month of men's spring summer 2024 , and this year more than ever, it promises to be full of news, debuts on the catwalk, special events in the fashion capitals: London, Florence and Milan, while in New York on stage the Resort Week dedicated to pre-collections. The Men's Fashion Weeks dedicated to spring-summer 2024 last for the whole month of June in the various fashion capitals, even there will also be a short pit-stop in Berlin, where Saint Laurent shows off official calendars. As always, there will be a mix of established brands and names on the rise, along with city swaps, special events and creative directorial debuts, including Pharrell Williams' first collection at Louis Vuitton , where the multi-talented musician has been named creative director of the 'menswear earlier this year.

LONDON FASHION WEEK MEN'S

There London Fashion Week presented by Clearpay in June 2023 is a digital-physical hybrid, showcasing the latest collections of menswear, womenswear and gender neutral clothing from designers who are officially part of the British Fashion Week, such as Saul Nash for example who will present his collection on Monday 12 June. Among the events worth noting are all the shows by the students of the most prestigious universities: from Westminster University to Ravensbourne University, up to the University of East London, it is an important appointment for scouting new talents to be included in maisons all over the world. A mention for the project by the designer Qasimi, whose death gave birth to a Qasimi Rising foundation which selects and supports emerging talents from the Middle East. Highlights include the launch of Browns' collaboration with the Crenshaw Skate Club, a pub quiz celebrating 30 years of the British Fashion Council's Newgen and a panel discussion on the future of menswear.

PITTI MAN

Pitti Uomo - Florence is the reference event for menswear. From 13 until 16 June , approximately 350 international press and buyers will be able to closely observe the future of men's tailoring in an event full of events. Fendi will present the men's spring-summer 2024 collection in Florence, on the occasion of Pitti Immagine Uomo n.104 (13-16 June 2023), with a special show – by invitation only – scheduled for the late afternoon of 15 June at the evocative and recently inaugurated FENDI Factory, the pole of excellence of the Maison in the heart of the Tuscan countryside in Capannuccia (Bagno a Ripoli). The fair, which is now a real fashion week, is marked by shows by emerging designers such as the protagonist of this edition Eli Russel Linnetz the founder of the ERL brand (who already has a collab with Dior and Kim Jones for the men's collection from two seasons ago) and winner of the Emerging Designer of the Year award at the 2021 CFDA Awards. While ERL will stage a late evening show on June 15, and will participate in the main Pitti installation, immersing a replica of the Statue of Liberty in the sand, Planet of the Apes style. Chu Suwannapha, the emerging designer from Thailand based in Cape Town, will also present his collection at Pitti, bringing to the Sala delle Nazioni a riot of colors and silhouettes that blend African and Eastern cultures. The outstanding projects of the 104th edition of Pitti Uomo include the new Scandinavian Manifesto section, which will present proposals from the major Scandinavian brands, the second edition of J Quality Factor Brand Project, which celebrates Japanese tailoring, and then Consinee and Labelhood, the talent hub for emerging brands from Shanghai Fashion Week. For the seventh time, the fair is focusing on sustainability thanks to the S|Style section, which will collaborate with MIL, Kering's materials innovation laboratory, for a project to mentor ten innovative clothing brands in the field of development in favour of environment, including Cavia, Dalpaos, Dhruv Kapoor, Isnurh, Jeanne Friot and Steven Passaro. Fendi will then move Pitti to Capannuccia, near Bagno a Ripoli, to show its new factory during the June 15 show. Designed together with British Vogue, LuisaViaRoma will build the Runway Icons display in Piazzale Michelangelo, while Rinascente and Valentino will open their flagship stores, inaugurating them during a dinner and a party.

MILAN MAN FASHION

Milan Fashion Week starts from 16 to 20 June with the spring summer 2024 men's fashion shows. In the calendar of the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, Valentino will open the dance with the fashion shows while Zegna will close it. In addition to Valentino 's return to Milan Fashion Week - which will present a fashion show with a focus on the men's wardrobe - designer Neil Barrett will also return to shows , while the American   Ralph Lauren Purple Label with a special presentation. British creatives like JW Anderson who also recently inaugurated the first flagship store in Milan and the Scotsman Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY also reconfirm. The brand is also on the calendar for the first time   Andersson Bell  and will present the brands for the first time on the calendar Maccapani (the new project by Margherita Maccapani Missoni), Maison Laponte, Marcello Pipitone – Bonola, Mcm, Setchu the winner of the LVMHPRIZE 2023 and Skin of Nature. In conjunction with the men's fashion week will also be presented   Fashion Film Festival Milano (FFFMilano ) curated by the founder Costanza Etro Cavalli which will celebrate its ninth edition with numerous physical and digital events from 12 to 19 June.

PARIS FASHION WEEK MEN'S

All eyes will be on Louis Vuitton, where Pharrell Williams will present his debut collection for the house, having been appointed creative director of menswear earlier this year – he will close the first day with a show at 8.30pm of June 20, 2023 (no details of any kind have been leaked to date). The hard core of Parisians - Dior, Loewe, Hermès and Givenchy will show - alongside the growing list of emerging national and international brands that choose to show in the city synonymous with style. Belgian designer Ludovic de Saint Sernin is expected to close the week on June 25, 2023; the designer recently caught the attention of the fashion system following his departure from Ann Demeulemeester as creative director after just one season.
