Banksy's work on the ruins of a house in Ukraine
Street artist Banksy debuted a new work on Friday in Borodyanka, Ukraine. The image of a girl supporting herself with her hands appeared above a destroyed house.
She is depicted as balancing on the foundation of the building, which is now a ruin. Banksy introduces the work through the Instagram platform, attaching more comprehensive views so that we realize the smallness of the work compared to the building. If you look at it from a distance, you probably won't notice it.
In Ukraine, a drawing of a boy meeting a man spraying paint on a wall is also gaining attention. Many people believe that the work is also related to Banksy, although no one knows the truth. In addition, there is an image of a gymnast dancing silk, drawn so that she is standing on a hole in the wall.
Banksy is known for his sly work in the UK, but he's also not afraid to create art in different contexts. He once sprayed on the fence separating Israel, painted on the wall in Calais, France, where migrants often pass on their way to Britain.
Borodyanka is a town about an hour northwest of Kyiv, among the towns that were invaded by Russia in the early days. By the time the army withdrew in April, people's daily lives had been completely turned upside down.
