Emile Durrer-Gasse: Dreams of salt and sand
Emile Durrer-Gasse’s photography captures the fragile spirit of Ibiza’s coastline
Raised by nomadic parents in an ancient Ibicencan finca, the photographer Emile Durrer-Gasse absorbed his parents’ passion for anthropology and travel. Nurtured by the Balearic landscape and inspired by the clarity of the light and sea, his photography has evolved into a raw and nostalgic style that effortlessly conveys the ephemeral spirit of the island. Durrer-Gasse’s work instinctively communicates a timeless approach to Ibiza and Formentera; one that is simple, slow and in harmony with nature. His most recent exhibition, Ballade en Mers Salées, is a collection of salt-and-sun-soaked images from Ibiza, Formentera and Madagascar. It is on display at Le 17 Boutique in Paris until the end of July.
