On June 13, 1986, two twins were born in Sherman Oaks, California, who would leave an indelible mark: Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen - aka the Olsen twins . Since they were newborns, the Olsens have captured media attention, starting their career as actresses on the television series "Full House". But their journey didn't stop there, they continued to redefine their role in showbiz , telling the world about their versatility and talent.

That's right, at just nine months old, Mary-Kate and Ashley were chosen to play the role of Michelle Tanner in "Full House", which debuted in 1987 and ended in 1995. Their performance won over millions of viewers, making them true stars since childhood. However, after the end of this experience, the twins continued to work in the entertainment world, taking part in countless films. How can we forget a series of cult films that marked a generation, including: "Little Scoundrels" (1995), "Two Twins in Paris" (1999) which followed the summer adventures of the twins in the city of enlightenment. And again, "Two Twins in Rome" and "Two Twins in London" (2002), "Two Almost Famous Twins" (2003) and "A Crazy Day in New York" (2004).

However, in 2004, they decided to step away from the spotlight and acting. Jodie Sweetin, their set colleague, explained in the podcast "Off the Vine" in 2022 that this choice was completely natural: "It's not that anything bad happened, their life just went on."

In 2006, after dropping out of NYU, the Olsen twins launched their fashion house, The Row . Based on the philosophy of "anti-trendiness", this reality focuses on minimal style, quality and comfort. The Row quickly gained prestige, becoming one of the most popular young companies in the fashion system.

Mary-Kate and Ashley, especially in recent years, have maintained a low profile and talked less and less about their private life - even limiting public appearances . Mary-Kate married French banker Olivier Sarkozy in 2015, but the couple divorced in 2020. Ashley, on the other hand, married artist Louis Eisner.

As already mentioned, the Olsen twins are known for their aversion to social media and their privacy. This connection with privacy could be the result of the media overexposure experienced since they were little. Being constantly in the spotlight can be exhausting and destabilizing, especially for those growing up in the public eye. Their choice to maintain a private life away from social media and interviews reflects an awareness of the need to be able to live (at least this phase of their lives) with serenity and discretion.

A significant episode related to this theme occurred during their last Parisian fashion show. Prior to the event, guests received a message kindly asking them to refrain from capturing or sharing content while experiencing the show. This request was a clear demonstration of the Olsens' approach to discretion and control over their image.

In an era dominated by social media, this choice to avoid overexposure represents an act of rebellion against the normal practices of the fashion system.
