Like every year, the world of fashion meets on the Montée des Marches . The 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival is also crowded with celebrities. From 14 May to 25 May the films in competition will premiere one after another at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès. Opening the film festival are two artists loved by the public, the godmother Meryl Streep , honored with the Palme d'Or for lifetime achievement, and the president of this year's jury, the director of "Barbie" Greta Gerwig .
The first film screened is the French "Le Deuxième Acte" by Quentin Dupieux . The only Italian director in competition is Paolo Sorrentino with "Parthenope" .
