Vivienna Lorikeet: “My pieces capture the glamorous spirit of the Cannes Film Festival”

L'OFFICIEL: What are the influences that inspired Vivienna Lorikeet's creations?
Vivienna Lorikeet: The influences that guide my creativity are deeply rooted in the beauty I find in every aspect of life, whether through shapes, colours, landscapes or even painting. My artistic journey is a constant quest for harmony between shapes, colors and proportions. When combining them, my goal is to create a fusion where each element comes together harmoniously, evoking the resemblance of a work of art.
 
LO: Your journey is quite surprising. You studied Finance Then you launched your brand in 2005. Today, you have opened a workshop and a showroom in Melbourne, Australia, you have 10 employees, you have also launched a collection for strong women, and you now present your collections in showrooms regularly in Paris. As the House continues to evolve, would you like to show in Paris one day?
VL: Paris inevitably evokes the glamorous world of fashion shows. It would be a dream for me to one day be able to see my creations come to life on the catwalks, surrounded by all this excitement. This experience would not only be unforgettable but would also propel my brand to the next level in this universe.

LO: Among your collections, what is your favourite piece?
VL: The cape from the new collection, designed in velvet and decorated with embroidery, is a real favorite for me. Its design is both chic and extremely versatile. Whether by combining it with a glittery slip dress for a daring look, with a more sober black ensemble for discreet elegance, or even with a bodysuit for a seductive look, this piece offers endless possibilities.
  
LO: A must-have model in your collections?
VL: When we talk about a must-have from our collections, I immediately think of coats! Each flower is carefully made by hand, and inside, the flower pole is fully embroidered, creating an exceptional piece. It’s a blend of craftsmanship and exquisite detail that truly defines our DNA.

LO: Previewed on the most exclusive red carpets, you offer sumptuous outfits to shine and not go unnoticed. How do you view the Cannes Film Festival? What is the style of the woman you would like to dress?
VL: As a designer, the approach to the Cannes Film Festival is the ideal opportunity for me to showcase my creations. Indeed, each piece I imagine aims to capture the refined and glamorous spirit of this prestigious event. Our style is aimed at the woman who appreciates the search for the unique, the rare piece and exceptional know-how. Our outfits embody the commitment to distinctive elegance. Each creation is an ode to our passion for craftsmanship, offering our VIPs the opportunity to shine on the redcarpet. The objective is to enhance femininity, to highlight the silhouette while offering a majestic appearance.
 
LO: Ultimately, the DNA of your House is very linked to the festive world of big evenings. Even your collections for plus size women are an ode to the most generous shapes… How does your clientele react?
VL: Through my collections, my goal is to convey the pleasure of dressing, with a particular emphasis on women with more generous shapes. I want them to have self-confidence by encouraging them to highlight their shapes and celebrate their beauty rather than hiding it. Each piece I create aims to encourage individual expression and promote a positive perception of self through fashion.
