Women on the front lines: the mission of the Cartier Women’s Initiative
Recognised for promoting social and environmental change at a global level through entrepreneurial women, the French brand's annual program is preparing to announce its next winners this May 22nd.
Cartier was one of the first luxury houses to recognise the importance of supporting female entrepreneurs from different disciplines. With its leadership program, since 2006 Cartier Woman's Initiative has stood out for helping women reach their full potential and building a more inclusive community thanks to its global and comprehensive approach: it has supported more than 300 from 66 countries and has awarded a total of USD $9,500,000 for grant financing.
For 2024, CWI is pleased to announce the 33 selected fellows representing the top three businesses within the nine regional awards and two thematic awards. Each of them are recognised for their achievements through their businesses and for delivering meaningful solutions to current global challenges. Additionally, for the first time in 17 years, women entrepreneurs with impact from Peru, Morocco and Vietnam are distinguished: Marlene Molero Suárez, lawyer and founder of Elsa (Work Spaces Without Harassment); Salma Bougarrani, Salma Bougarrani, creator of GREEN WATECH; and Marina Tran-Vu, founder of EQUO.
The first, second and third place winners will be announced on May 22 during the Cartier Women's Initiative Awards Ceremony to be held in Shenzhen, China; a place considered as a center of entrepreneurship, innovation and creativity, both for the country and the world. First place winners will receive USD $100,000 in funding, while second and third place winners will receive USD $60,000 and $30,000 respectively.
