For almost a century, the French Riviera has been one of those coastal spots that attracts Hollywood movie stars and French icons with impeccable effortless style. From Cannes to Saint-Tropez , extending to Provence , the dress code of these regions is synonymous with summer and dolce vita — characterized in particular by the wearing of hats, sunglasses, or other light and vaporous outfits.

Although Cannes is most often associated with its prestigious film festival , the city has been a favoured vacation spot for decades. One of the most famous places in the city is certainly the Boulevard de la Croisette , where residents and fashion-conscious tourists meet for an aperitif on the terrace in the afternoon, but also to stroll around the numerous shops on the avenue.

To celebrate this characteristic and timeless fashion as the summer season approaches, the stars present at the 77th edition of the   Cannes Film Festival honours this southern French style — opting for an elegant and airy aesthetic characteristic of the Côte d'Azur, called Croisettecore . Anya Taylor-Joy opened the festivities with her looks capturing the quintessential energy of the Côte d'Azur, obviously designed by the child of the sun Jacquemus . Actresses Hunter Schafer and Selena Gomez also proved their fashion game was formidable in their respective red carpet appearances throughout the festival. In a chic knitted cardigan and skirt, with stiletto heels and a low bun for Selena, while the Euphoria star and Mugler muse took a different, vintage-inspired approach with a white apron dress and scarf coordinated.

The Croisettecore trend never ceases to inspire and can be adapted according to one's preferences, as the various celebrities spotted on the Croisette prove to us this year: mini or maxi dress, transparency or opacity, with or without a hat, flat or in heels, dark or sunny tones... it's all about knowing how to find that je ne sais quoi that lets a radiant and relaxed energy shine through, but always chic and refined.
