The return of Walter Albini: will Alessandro Michele be the new creative director?
Investment firm Bidayat has acquired the Italian designer's archives from Curti, planning to relaunch the brand globally in a luxury key. There are rumours, or maybe it's more a desire, about Alessandro Michele as a possible architect of the future rebirth of the brand.
Not celebrated enough, yet a pillar of Italian fashion. We are talking about Walter Albini , a historic Made In Italy brand taken over by Bidayat, an investment fund, which has acquired the intellectual property and archive of Barbara Curti, who has given life to a real stylistic and cultural legacy, now also becoming the curator to support the new project. Insistent rumours speak of Alessandro Michele as a possible new creative director of Walter Albini . But is it possible? Maybe not, because it is very probable that, after leaving Gucci, Alessandro Michele had to sign a non-compete agreement which does not allow him to accept new creative assignments for at least a year.
