Prada Closer: the spring summer 2025 men's fashion show
Seen up close it was something else entirely. For the Prada spring summer 2025 men's fashion show, Raf Simons and Miuccia Prada stop to think about a collection in which details play a fundamental role.
The power of observation guides the concept of the Prada men's spring summer 2025 show presented during Milan Fashion Week . Inside the Fondazione Prada Warehouse, OMA has set up a white hut stylized as a house with an elevated catwalk surrounded by a fence railing. The models cross the venue showing the new creations of Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons , questioning the perceptions of observers.
The collection includes looks that represent the extreme synthesis of the Prada aesthetic, cotton knitwear sweaters in saturated colours with trompe l'oeil contrasting collars, cotton summer jackets and coats with three-quarter sleeves, wrinkled shirts that become cropped and soft textured leather jackets. The color blocks become obsessive and the fit is versatile: we go from tight fits, to oversize, boxy silhouettes and more regular volumes. The utilitarian jackets, the t-shirts with paintings of mimes created by the artist Bernard Buffet (as if to celebrate Miuccia Prada's past as a mime), the wrinkled collars that protrude from the jackets and the tracksuits with vertical zips on the the final.
This, more than any other, is a collection that must be metabolised, experienced and seen more closely. In this way Prada questions the format of the fashion show, challenging spectators to perceive what is real and what is reproduction. The youthful enthusiasm of Gen Z and the spirit of freedom to experience fashion emerges.
