What to remember from the Louis Vuitton SS25 show
Here are the next key trends that we will all follow at LV.
For his third season at Louis Vuitton , Pharrell Williams takes us even further, with:
- A compass invitation: an Apple Air Tag allowing you to locate almost everything in the world. For a runway entitled “The World is Yours”.
- A symbolic place: the Unesco House (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), a United Nations agency which works to protect peace in the world, through international cooperation in the fields education, science and culture. Designed after the war, inaugurated in 1958, a symbol of modern architecture, it has not aged a bit.
- A committed collaboration: with the Air Afrique collective, a French cultural collective initiated, among others, by the magazine of the same name, whose aim is to celebrate the historical and cultural diversity of the African continent. For this collection, he signs the teaser for the fashion show broadcast the day before on the networks, featuring the young generation under the leadership of the writer and art critic Simon Njami quoting Aimé Césaire “universalism is the sum of all particularisms ". But also several new patterns from this collection, such as a Checkerboard tartan and different logos inspired by the theme of travel.
- A season toned down: in particular by a succession of rather very formal first black silhouettes, close to tailoring, in reference to the uniform of exceptional travellers, pilot and diplomat, here nicknamed “flying dandy”.
- A love of details: from a distance the clothes appear smooth and monochrome, up close they reveal a subtle work of embossing, tones, Monogram and Damoflage (the now iconic hybrid Damier-camouflage pattern), all reminiscent of nuances of the human body, of the surfaces of the skin.
- A new line of bags: presented at the opening of the fashion show, these pieces feature a host of great house classics previously made in canvas and now dynamited in an ultra-soft leather version.
- An original soundtrack: three pieces produced by the owner of course. “Triumphus Cosmos” by Pharrell Williams, “Birds Don't Sing” by Clipse featuring John Legend and “Falling Up” by Adekunle Gold, Pharrell Williams and Niles Rodgers. All performed by the Voices of Fire choir and the Orchester du Pont Neuf.
