Ten Ibiza restaurants to soak up the early autumn energy.

As the season shifts, Ibiza’s best restaurants slip into downtempo mode, with fewer crowds, cooler evenings and a slower, softer rhythm.

Nudo

On sun-soaked and sleepy Playa Es Figueral, Nudo’s rise as one of Ibiza’s coolest chiringuitos has been nothing short of remarkable. What started as a simple beachside restaurant has blossomed into a hotspot for fresh, zesty seafood dishes. The chefs, a group of young friends, focus on using the freshest ingredients for their lime-infused crudos, oysters on ice, and fish tacos with homemade pickles.

Amalur

A mainstay of Ibiza’s fine dining scene since 1981, Amalur has recently undergone a revival, positioning itself once again as a top dining destination. Located in a beautifully restored finca in Santa Gertrudis, the restaurant offers a sophisticated, candlelit ambiance, perfect for a leisurely lunch or a romantic dinner. The new terrace garden, with its dappled shade and chic umbrellas, brings a touch of Amalfi Coast flair to the island, complementing the refined Italian-inspired menu.

Sa Capella

Perched in the hills above San Antonio, this 18th-century monastery exudes old-world charm and is one of Ibiza's most enchanting dining spots. Guests enter through a courtyard glowing with candlelight, framed by red bougainvillaea, before stepping inside through massive, iron-studded wooden doors. The dimly lit interior reveals a majestic space with towering ceilings, rugged stone walls, and hidden alcoves that evoke a sense of gothic grandeur to complement the locally sourced, wood-fired dishes.

Sabina Ibiza

Inspired by the close-knit community feel of Mustique and the upscale bohemian vibe of Costa Careyes, Anton Bilton’s eco-estate on Ibiza’s southwest coast has quietly thrived over the past five years. In 2024, a revamped members-only policy allows for select properties to be rented for the season, while the exceptional Clubhouse restaurant is open to the public on weekends. Designed by Rolf Blakstad, with interiors by Soho House maestro Lázaro Rosa-Violán, the Clubhouse is a serene vision in white and mint green, where the island’s families gather to enjoy wood-fired pizzas and sashimi by the pool.

El Chiringuito Es Cavallet

A fixture on Ibiza’s beach club scene for over 15 years, El Chiringuito Es Cavallet has evolved from a new kid on the block to an island institution. Balearic beats from the island’s top DJs provide a laid-back soundtrack, while the menu centres around fresh fish, elegant pastas and bottles of blush rosé. As the afternoon progresses, couples sip cocktails on the sand while cossetted children soak up the arts and crafts-inspired kids’ club.

Es Torrent

The original seafood haven of Ibiza, Es Torrent remains unmatched after decades. This legendary restaurant in San José blends the simplicity of a traditional fish shack with the sophistication of fine dining, offering beautifully prepared dishes like the island’s signature fish stew and unbeatable paella. Its charming, polished wooden interior and elegant table settings ensure a dining experience that’s as refined as it is relaxed. After a seafood feast, guests can unwind on one of the restaurant’s coveted beach beds, just steps away from the ocean.

Boodiou

Tony Comas and Hadrien Rigat, childhood friends from France’s Camargue region, have created a sultry, lively restaurant in Ibiza’s Sa Penya district with Boodiou. Their shared history of riding horses and working in family-run restaurants has translated into a culinary venture that merges traditional French techniques with local market ingredients. Nestled in the heart of Calle de la Virgen, the island’s legendary gay quarter, Boodiou has quickly become a hotspot thanks to its intimate, cave-like setting and innovative tapas-style plates. Rigat’s mastery of French cuisine brings refined dishes like parsnip purée and razor clams to life, while Comas distils his own spirits, crafting inventive cocktails like the vegan hierbas sour.

Hostal La Torre

While Ibiza is famous for its breathtaking sunsets, Hostal La Torre in autumn is the insider’s go-to. High above the sea just north of San Antonio, this tranquil hideaway offers sweeping, unobstructed views of the Mediterranean from its wraparound sunset terrace. On clear autumn evenings, pods of dolphins can be spotted in the bay below as Ibiza’s local DJs soundtrack a menu of seafood-centric tapas and cocktails.

Beachouse

What was once a bustling party spot on Ibiza’s shores has transformed into a sophisticated beachfront dining destination. Spearheaded by Sofija Mehta, Beachouse attracts a refined crowd seeking fresh, sustainable dishes and a laid-back yet chic atmosphere. Guests can start their day with sunrise yoga, enjoy lunch fresh off the charcoal grill, or attend the restaurant’s famed full-moon dinners.

Zuma

Zuma’s prime location atop the Ibiza Gran Hotel, adjacent to Club Chinois, means it was destined to be a hotspot. Now in third year, this sleek, modern Japanese eatery is a magnet for Ibiza’s glamorous crowd, who come to indulge in delicate tempura, tataki, and perfectly crafted sushi while watching a steady stream of music industry heavyweights come and go.
