For his Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2025 show , acclaimed creative director Nicolas Ghesquière took another trip back in time, traveling back to the Renaissance, an era he certainly feels a personal connection to, having grown up in the Loire Valley and its centuries-old châteaux. The lineup includes silhouettes of puffed sleeves, tucked-in waists, and peplum hems; the designer’s signature architectural shapes, softened here with more fluidity than usual; a balance between flou and tailoring; dropped-waisted ribbed-knit dresses; coats that mimic the look of blouses; a profusion of embellishments like cabochons; sheer pants; and a trio of deconstructed jackets adorned with paintings by French artist Laurent Grasso from his Studies into the Past series, on which he inserts celestial phenomena in the style of Renaissance greats.
