Olympic Games 2024: Louis Vuitton creates the Torches and Medailles trunks
In THE frame of partnership between LVMH and Paris 2024, Louis Vuitton creates the Torches and Medailles trunks, an expression of 170 years of know-how in the art of travel.
For more than thirty-five years, Louis Vuitton has crafted trunks combining ingenious design, artisanal know-how and avant-garde vision for the world's most iconic sporting competitions. The Médailles trunks – 468 examples in total will be awarded – are inspired by the famous Coiffeuse trunk, and are dressed in Monogram canvas. The Torches trunks echo the legendary hat box from 1895 whose exterior features Damier canvas, created in 1888. Like each piece crafted in the Asnières workshops since 1859, the Médailles and Torches inaugurate a new chapter in the history of the house illustrating, once again, its motto: “Victory travels in Louis Vuitton”. Around thirty brand employees are participating in the Olympic Torch Relay, demonstrating Louis Vuitton 's commitment to sport.
