2025 Spring/Summer Lyst reveals Brittany Stripe searches have skyrocketed by 388%
Lyst shows that searches for the Brittany stripe have skyrocketed by 388% this season. This stripe originated in the 19th century and is often used by major brands in the spring and summer seasons. For more than two centuries, the simple blue and white pattern has sometimes symbolised the vigor of the French navy, and sometimes represented the elegant French style in the hands of Ms. Coco Chanel.

If last year's striped elements were still dominated by the holiday style of slender lines, then this season's Brittany has restored the eye-catching lines and simple and generous style of the sailor shirt, turning to the college temperament of a young sailor.
Patou's 2025 Spring/Summer collection is inspired by the strong yet feminine characters in French films. "I want a soft, return to elegance, French yet international," designer Guillaume Henry explained of this collection. He paired striped shirts with headscarves and a series of navy blue jackets. Patou's clean tailoring style is combined with classic nautical elements, giving fashion a relaxed and enjoyable experience.
Proenza Schouler, Sacai and Ralph Lauren offer different matching guidelines for nautical stripes: Proenza Schouler combines stripes with asymmetrical tailoring, with blue and white tassels dancing with the walking steps; Sacai focuses on the simple and wonderful charm in daily life. The striped T-shirt looks ordinary from the front, but the piece of fabric extending from the back highlights the "scheming" undercurrents in the hearts of fashionistas; Ralph Lauren takes the classic American college style as the tone, incorporating striped elements into its iconic Polo shirt, and then putting on a suit jacket, the simple stripes can also be played with different patterns.
