Red September: the new “Vacuum” collection
Red September's autumn-winter 23/24 collection interprets the "bubble phenomenon" and solitude by referring to the "vacuum", the space where silence and emptiness reign
The "Vacuum" is the concept on which the new Red September fall-winter collection is based: a space where silence, isolation and confusion prevail, that "bubble" that replaces the desire to spend one's time inside of a community. Inspired by industrial and architectural design, Red September offers a fresh look at familiar themes. The brand was founded by Russian designer Olga Vasyukova.
Olga works in different fields: design, illustration, production and photo shoots. He works on the concept behind each collection by focusing on a mix of nostalgic aesthetics, with references to modern art. The designer works with leather, denim, nylon, cotton and various other fabric combinations, with a good deal of experimentation. She is not afraid to take bold steps in her work: she paints, burns, buries fabrics in the ground.
The vacuum, which in 2022 was understood as a symbolic lack of oxygen, in 2023 becomes the removal of preconceptions with the aim of enhancing the spirit of a society with the desire for collaboration and integration. Red September represents the "bubble phenomenon" with voluminous style garments. Sweatshirts and puffer jackets with hood to hide in, enveloping garments for a multi-layered outfit.
